My academic focus is on extracting some of the characteristics found in the Chinese industrial development process in comparison with Asian economies such as India and Taiwan. Main analytical viewpoints include; (1) catching-up and globalization of the technological/managerial capability of indigenous enterprises, (2) transformation of consumption behavior and the impact on indigenous/foreign brands, and (3) the changes in skill-choices in labor market along with the social-welfare development.
