The main research themes are the rise and fall of regional industries, and the possibility of the survival and development of small and medium-sized enterprises that are responsible for the regional economy.
I am especially interested in the relationships among companies, universities, and local governments, which are the main players in the region. The basic question is how the amount of social capital they are embedded in will affect the performance of the region and organizations.
