We conduct research on the theoretical foundations of information and computation, and their implementation and application on computers. Research is being conducted in a variety of areas, such as areas that consider the theoretical meaning of programming languages, and areas such as computational theory that consider calculation itself. This includes research on artificial intelligence such as machine translation.
