I specialize in the study of Indian Economy. My primary research focus has been to analyze developments of indigenous firms and industries, contrary to most of the late developing countries. The distinguished feature of recent developments in India, that I have come to be increasingly concerned about, is social development lagging behind globalization and economic development. Presently my research lies in the mechanism of labour migration. Although migrated workers contribute to the economic activities in both urban and rural areas, majority of them face rare opportunities to accumulate skills or improve living standards.
